Who Should Attend?
Practitioners undertaking direct work with children and families. Before attending it is suggested that SCIE Think families Online training is completed.

Learning Aims:
To give an increased understanding of the impact of parental mental health problems on children and the parenting ability of adults.

Learning Objectives:

  • To gain knowledge of common diagnoses and underlying issues/symptoms
  • To understand the relationship between parenting, mental health & child development/behaviour.
  • To have an understanding of potential vulnerabilities, including stigma.
  • To gain knowledge of the services, thresholds and processes
  • To be able to work in a multi agency context including managing different opinions, which may be barriers to working well together
