Who is this training for?
This training is for practitioners including social workers, teachers, youth workers and volunteers who work regularly with young people.

Learning Aims and Objectives

• Having an awareness of the impact of drug and alcohol on young people, and being able to engage with young people on this issue is a vital part of safeguarding children.
• Increase awareness and knowledge to identify substance misuse issues
• Receive up-to-date and relevant information on drugs of concern, including ‘new psychotic substances’.
• Gain an understanding of local patterns of young people's use of both legal and illegal substances
• Understand more about engaging young people in dialogues about drugs and alcohol
• Gain knowledge and application of the Drug Use Screening Tool.
