Delegates Will:
- Scrutinise the advancements made in tackling loneliness and isolation nationwide and develop priorities for future progress
- Engage with fellow attendees and develop holistic approaches to mental health across of range of public services which may offset social isolation
- Assess the role for high standards of commissioning in tackling loneliness and isolation in old age
- Analyse the structural determinants of loneliness and isolation can be discuss how these can be tackled
- Determine how to raise the profile of loneliness and remove stigma in order to obtain support across communities
- Consider methods of providing easy access to regular social interactions for those suffering from loneliness and isolation
- Develop methods of building individual resilience through individual one to one support
- Examine how to understand and respond to specific circumstances of an individual’s loneliness, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach
- Evaluate how to identify individuals whose lack of relationships might lead to worsening health and connect them with appropriate services
- Share examples of utilising transport, technology and social infrastructure to keep people engaged, active and connected in their communities
