New Safeguarding: Working Together in Child Protection Conferences and Core Groups

This new course is designed to help you achieve better outcomes for children and families and is suitable for all practitioners working with, and on behalf of, children, young people and families who have responsibility for ensuring everything possible is done to prevent the unnecessary escalation of issues or problems. 

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the child in need and child protection conference processes in relation to “Working Together 2015” and the LSCB child protection procedures
  • Understand the principles of the “Strengthening Families” model to child protection conferences
  • Understand the process and practice of the model and the format for the child protection conference
  • To have experience of participating in a mock child protection conference
  • Understand their roles and responsibilities when working with Children’s Social Care
