CTSL Big Gathering: Churches Together for the Climate

Thursday 06 May 2021
19:00 to 21:00

This gathering will be chaired by CTSL Chair: Bishop Karowei, Bishop of Woolwich

Why is 2021 such an important year for churches to act together to protect God's Creation? How can we, as Christians in South London, have a positive impact on this global emergency?

With the UK hosting both the G7 in June and the UN COP26 in November, 2021 is an opportunity for our leaders to champion and exemplify key actions to achieve climate justice.

We will hear from speakers Luke Harman of Christian Aid about the importance of climate finance, Beth Naylor-Smith of Young Christian Climate Network about the relay from the G7 in Cornwall to COP26 in Glasgow that will pass through London 5th-8th August, and Rosh Lal of Faith for the Climate about movement building and the COP Faith Task Group.

Tangible actions and usable resources will be shared to empower us all to make a difference in this exciting year for changing the climate trajectory and supporting our neighbours around the world.

A Zoom link will be distributed nearer the date.

Please do invite guests who would be interested to join this event, especially young people, as we learn, discuss, plan and pray for the future of God's earth and our neighbours near and far.
