A conference was organised on the 26th September 2019 on Perinatal Mental Health, the mental health and well being of women, their child, partner and families through a year after giving birth. Around 1 in 5 women will experience a mental health problem during pregnancy or in the year after giving birth including anxiety, eating disorders, depression.

Croydon is fortunate to be able to support teen parents through the Family Nurse Partnership programme. Health visitors, midwives for the homeless, SLAM perinatal services (in-patient Mother and Baby Unit at Bethlem Royal Hospital and Croydon Community Perinatal Service at Larkbarrow House and Bethlem Royal Hospital) and Mark from Fathers Reaching Out (www.reachingoutpmh.co.uk) presented at the event .
