Job Title: Operations Manager
Salary: £31,764 - £34,299 NJC SCP 31
Hours: 35 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work at meetings and venues.
One year fixed term, with a view to extending subject to funding
The Operations Manager is a member of Galop’s Management Team (MT) and oversees the day to day functions of Galop’s operations under the direction of the CEO and with the help of the Administrator, the bookkeeper and (when available) volunteers. The purpose of the job is to supervise/implement the daily support operations of the charity and plan the most efficient procedures. The postholder is responsible for all Galop’s administrative and communication functions.
Job Title: Hate Crime Researcher
Salary: £27,579 - £31,073, incl. lndn weighting, pro rata NJC 27-31
Hours: Either full time (35 hours per week) or 2 x part time (one post 28 hours and one 7 hours)
Seeking motivated individuals to join our Hate Crime Team. There are two available research roles. These include the following:
- LGBT+ Hate Crime Researcher (4 days per week – 28 hours)
- Trans Hate Crime Researcher (1 day per week – 7 hours)
They welcome applicants seeking both these roles as a single full time job, also applications for one of the above roles as a part time job.
Both roles will focus on the production of qualitative and quantitative research to understand the scale, nature and impact of hate crime. This will involve data gathering, analysis, publication and dissemination.The LGBT+ Hate Crime Researcher (4 days per week) will be responsible for producing a publication analysing hate incident data, adapting an existing publication on social attitudes toward LGBT+ people, conducting interviews with professionals on hate crime and restorative justice, analysis of responses to a community survey about online hate speech, and organising a policy roundtable meeting of experts.
The Trans Hate Crime Researcher (1 day per week) will conduct research to document and critically consider transphobic hostility in the UK. This will involve formulating a research plan, data gathering, analysis and producing a publication. It is anticipated that this may involve polling, interviews and media analysis.
Job Title: Hate Crime Independent Victims Advocate
Salary: £27,579-£31.073, incl. London weighting, NJC 27-31
Hours: 35 hours per week
Seeking a motivated individual to join our hate crime casework team. The role will focus on delivering advice, support and advocacy to empower people targeted by anti-LGBT hate crime. The post holder will be expected to attend occasional partner meetings as relevant, liaise with external support agencies, and undertake some outreach/engagement, as agreed with the Head of Hate Crime Services. Galop is looking for someone with a robust understanding of issues around hate crime, good knowledge about the identities and lives of LGBT+ people. A robust commitment to equalities and the inclusion of all LGBT+ people and a demonstrable aptitude to working on this topic.
