Community Connect aims to empower the local community by building on existing relationships and forging new connections with stakeholders to strengthen and improve outcomes for local people. It is a project delivered by the community, for the community.
A  series of successful pre-launch events have been held and some fantastic contributions made to help shape this work going forward.  An Alliance of partner organisations has been formed with whom we will be working closely for the benefit of local residents and this Alliance is growing by the day in terms of the number of organisations wanting to get involved and be part of it.  The Family Centre have already started to support residents affected by the next round of benefit cap and on the 20th January will be officially launching this project to the wider community.
During the morning on launch day they will be continuing thier intensive work with residents affected by the benefit cap by delivering an employability workshop and undertaking 1:1 appointments.

The event will start at 3.30pm when The Worshipful the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Wayne Trakas-Lawlor will officially launch the Community Connect project and open the doors to the wider Fieldway and New Addington community.
Come and help them celebrate..

The theme of the event will be the Community Connect project’s aim of delivering local solutions for local people in alliance with local voluntary, community, faith and statutory services and we will be showcasing exactly what Community Connect can offer local people.

After this, everyone is invited to join in the fun and activities. A taster of what to expect is detailed below:
