NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group, who are responsible for buying most health services of behalf of Croydon residents, are currently putting together a steering group to look at how they provide services for patients with digestive diseases. The work of this steering group will inform future commissioning and service provision for patients in Croydon.
They want to make sure that the services they buy are the ones that will provide the best outcomes for patients. They think that the best way to do this is by listening to patients to make sure they have the patient voice at the heart of decision making. Therefore they are currently looking for a patient representative to join the steering group to help develop digestive diseases services for the future.
Digestive diseases covers a wide range of conditions and can include:
- Coeliac disease
- Crohn's disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Irritable bowel syndrome
The time commitment will be one monthly meeting for 2 hours on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings will be held at Community Health Services premises. There may also be some additional reading time needed on occasion.
They appreciate that this is a time (and energy) commitment and will be able to cover any out of pocket expenses (e.g. parking, travel).
If you would like to know more about this opportunity please do not hesitate to call 020 8668 1384. You can download the terms of reference of the Steering Group to give you a better idea of the purpose of the group.
