Beanstalk is a children’s literacy charity that trains and supports volunteers to help children in primary schools improve their reading.On the 5th December we are celebrating the work our volunteers do in primary schools and we would like to invite potential volunteers that may be interested in finding out more about us. To mark International Volunteer Day on (Monday 5th December), Beanstalk are holding a Winter Celebration for their reading helpers and friends across our area. This is an opportunity to find out more about our work in local primary schools and speak to our volunteers about their experiences. It takes place from 2.00pm - 4.00pm at:

Special guest will be Mat Tobin, Senior Lecturer in English and Children's Literature at Oxford Brookes University. Mat will give an interactive workshop about how to use books to inspire children to read for pleasure. To find out more about Mat, follow this link.
