"Development of a whole system approach to female offenders" is a new Ministry of Justice seed funding competition. The maximum grant will be in the region of £70,000 per year.
The Ministry of Justice has a budget of £800,000 to support local areas to develop a joined-up, multi-agency approach to improve support for female offenders and other women with complex needs who may be at risk of offending. £200,000 will be available in each of the financial years from 2016 to 2017 through to 2019 to 2020. Applicants are invited to bid for funding over 2 or more years. Bids will also be considered for one-year funding in 2016 to 2017, to support preparatory work in areas that are at the early stages of development.
The deadline for applications is 30 January 2017 (12 noon).
Whilst the MoJ will not enter into negotiation or discussion about bids, they will try to answer questions about the application form and process, and the aims of the grant funding scheme before the closing date for bids to be received. They will take care will be taken to ensure that all recipients are treated equally and fairly.
