The festival will be held at the end of October in the soon-to-be-opened Boxpark restaurant and bar complex which is currently being constructed from shipping containers alongside East Croydon station.The event is jointly promoted by cutting-edge promoters Eskimo Dance and the NME and is supported and part-funded by Croydon Council as part of its ‘growth zone’ plans and ambitions to bring a new wave of culture to the town centre.
On Saturday 29 October 2016 the pop-up food and drink mall, constructed entirely from shipping containers, will see Eskimo Dance play host to a stellar line-up of grime’s finest. Their bill is a who’s who of grime born out of the underground culture, including Wiley, Ghetts, Novelist, Solo45, Elf Kid, President T, P Money, Flirta D, Cadell, Merky Ace, Blakie, Splurgeboys, Mistajam, Preditah, Maximum, Rude Kid, Hatcha and BBC1 Extra DJ, Sian Anderson, who was at the launch event. A secret guest and a special guest are still to be announced. On Sunday 30th October 2016, NME will host a free showcase celebrating the future sounds of London with the best up-and-coming musical talent. Their full line-up will be announced soon, but A2, Alfa Mist, Barney Artist, Club Kuru, Nova Twins and Tailr.Mde.Lvn are all confirmed to take to the stage. Register here
