Depression Alliance, the leading National charity for those affected by depression offers 'Friends in Need' both on-line and locally to help connect people who are feeling isolated by their depression. 

When you have depression carrying out your usual day to day tasks, seeing your friends and taking part in activities you enjoy may become more difficult, you can feel stuck. Research from The New Economics Foundation shows that by utilising the '5 Ways to Well-being' mental health can really improve and recovery maintained.  The 5 Ways are:

  • Connect
  • Keep Learning
  • Give
  • Take Notice and
  • Be Active.

Croydon Friends in Need provides opportunities for those affected by depression to come together with each other throughout the week to do they things they enjoy.  They have walks, coffee chats, trips out of London, gardening, mosaics and jewellery making, a poetry group..the possibilities are endless!
