This truly was an inspirational event for the whole community to come together and celebrate the achievements of Women around the globe and to make a pledge for parity as was the theme for this years event.  

In attendance were the guest of honour The Worshipful Mayor of Croydon Cllr. Patricia Hay-Justice as well as local inspirational speakers including Cllr. Manu Shahul-Hameed & Dipti Gandhi (Pharmacist).  Project speakers included Irene Kafeero (Croydon Council), Ros Spinks (CCG), Francesca Moore (Bhopal Project), Elain Antwi (Al-Khair Foundation) & Charlie Ladyman (Healthwatch Croydon).  

Performances included classical Indian Music by Sangeetha of the UK, Yoga dance by Hansa Patel & poetry reading by Eileen Walkin.  A special award ceremony was also held recognising some of ARCC's member organisations for working with Women and the Asian Community including; Apsara Arts, Eastern Oasis, Jagruti Women's Group, Croydon Asian Women's Organisation, Elmwood Communiy Centre & SPICE.  Prizes were distributed for best costume and for raffle winners as well as certificates, choclates & flowers for the speakers and invited guests.  For further details about the projects and activities of ARCC please visit their website: www.arccltd.com
