JustBe Croydon are trialling a “Prescription Pad” style engagement tool to help signpost towards the website and Health MOT.

The purpose of the Health and Wellbeing Prescription Pad is to act as a signposting tool to the range of health and wellbeing information available at www.justbecroydon.org. This website covers 6 health areas;

  1. Mental health and wellbeing
  2. Stopping smoking
  3. Being more physically active
  4. Drinking less alcohol
  5. Eating well
  6. Healthy sexual relationships

It also acts as a prompt towards the Health MOT which is the access point to Just Live Well which is the free 12-month face to face service for eligible residents.

Given the time pressures on health professionals, this prescription style signposting resource has been designed to be easily incorporated into existing brief intervention conversations with clients. It is hoped it will empower individuals in making healthier choices and take a self-management approach where appropriate. The prescription pad can be used as a shared decision-making tool between the clinician and client, using the allocated “We have discussed” box to record any pertinent issues raised.

If you'd like to trial this, get in touch with Juliet Stevenson, Live Well Coordinator, either email livewell@croydon.gov.uk or call 07710 183678.
