Most of you will have a fair idea of what being in the Town Centre on a Thursday and Friday afternoon is like at the moment for young people. There are a huge amount of young people hanging around between 4-6pm after school and, inevitably, there is the potential for challenging behaviour, and, as we saw a couple of weeks ago, much worse.

One of the things that the council would like to do is to provide the young people with as much positive engagement as possible whilst they are travelling through North End. They are therefore asking as for as many youth organisations/partners/providers to come and promote your projects to young people in the area.

They have partnered with Drop In (Young Peoples Counselling and Outreach Team) and the Town Centre BID Team (representing Town Centre businesses) and will be out engaging with young people on Thursday and Friday afternoons in February and March. All youth organisations are invited to come and join them on any of these afternoons if you can; bring leaflets, games, activities, freebies, patience and a listening ear!!

The dates are as follows:

February 23rd and 24th, March 2nd and 3rd, March 9th and 10th, March 16th and 17th.
