Croydon Voluntary Action is asking organisations in Croydon that provide services and activities to register with us and be part of this life changing service that is FREE to you as the provider and FREE to those that wish to access the services/activities on our website.
As we are developing the information on the site we are introducing a two step process:
- Is for those organisations/groups that have activities they wish to promote on the site
- We will register Social Prescribing Users who would like to make referrals through the site these may be nurses, doctors, advice givers, community police, etc.
Social prescribing, sometimes referred to as community referral, is a means of enabling GPs, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services.
Social prescribing schemes can involve a variety of activities which are typically provided by voluntary and community sector organisations. Examples include:
- Arts activities
- Group learning
- Healthy eating advice
- A range of sports
