Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme is a 6 month paid job with a local employer, funded by the Government. It provides a fully funded opportunity for young people to get experience of working in their chosen sector and government funding of a £1500 start-up payment for each young person, to support initial recruitment costs and training.

Jobs from the Kickstart Scheme will be open to people 16-24 years old, who are claiming Universal Credit, and are at risk of long term unemployment. The first jobs should be available from November, and applications from employers are now underway. 

Support from London Learning Consortium (LLC)

LLC are supporting small employers by acting as an intermediary to support them to access the scheme so don't miss out - get in touch today to find out how your organisation could be involved. As an experienced training provider delivering government funded skills and employment related services, London Learning Consortium (LLC) are representing employers to bid for this scheme and can provide all required employability training and support, delivered flexibly to meet employers needs, as part of the Kickstart programme. 

LLC will also provide a Work Experience Coach to support both you and your Kickstart young person throughout the 6 month programme and beyond to enable them to progress to employment, apprenticeships or further education as appropriate.  LLC will retain the cost of £500 for this support from the £1500 start-up payment, making a £1000 payment to the employer for each young person recruited to cover the cost of items such as uniforms and other setup/initial job specific training costs.
