Thank you to all of you who attended our special CVSA meeting last week, focusing on the upcoming Best Start commissioning opportunity, which is expected to go live at the beginning of January 2016.
The London Borough of Croydon is tendering for a range of services for families with children aged under five years.
Working within an integrated Best Start programme comprising Croydon Council Early Help, health practitioners, children's centres, early years providers and voluntary, community and faith organisations, providers will deliver an innovative range of services that enable mothers, fathers and other carers to become more confident and resilient, to establish mutually supportive social networks and to progress along a pathway to employment.
This will be done through a number of commissioned services based on the following areas:
- Lot 1: Community networking and co-design
- Lot 2: Peer to peer support and self-reliance
- Lot 3: Pathways to employment
The tender The contract will start in July 2016 and will be operational until 31st March 2018 subject to the Council's discretion, based on the awarded supplier's performance and the Council's available budget. The total value for this service is £369,000.00 per annum (for 2 years). All tender information will be found on www.londontenders.org
The Council is organising other two briefing events for Thursday 10th of December between 10am and 11.30am and Tuesday 15th December between 5pm and 6.30pm. Both events will be held in the Ernest Tabener Open Space at Bernard Weatherill House; 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 1EA. CVA will be organising three workshops in the new year on each lot and inviting voluntary sector groups to come along network and meet potential partners.
