The Charity Retail Association has worked with HM Revenue and Customs to
develop new guidance which should tighten the monitoring of retail Gift Aid
without imposing new burdens on charities.

They became involved in nine months of negotiations after guidance was proposed that could have added "additional administration" and the potential to "significantly reduce the level of
gift aid claimed from the sale of donated goods".
