A London-wide scheme, Home for Good was designed to support those who might be struggling in a new and unfamiliar area, with a minimal (if any) support network. Clients, from The Passage, have reported that isolation can be a real problem, and this can lead to a recurrence of homelessness.
Home for Good Community Volunteers are recruited, trained and supported by The Passage to meet regularly with a local person to offer support and encouragement. Things they might do include:
- Going for a coffee and chat
- Exploring the local area: shops, markets, museums, courses, libraries and other avenues
- Supporting the client in issues they may be facing, either practically or by linking them with organisations that can help
