Centres of Excellence

Providing core grounding for the best free specialist legal advice agencies in London, to help them become stable and remain viable in this particularly difficult climate. Helping brilliant organisations go beyond constant fire-fighting, enabling them to focus on the work they do best - helping people with their legal problems. Currently, to be eligible to apply to become a Centre of Excellence an organisation has to:

  • Have been providing free specialist civil legal advice (through at least 2 F.T.E employed staff providing casework and/or representation in courts or tribunals) for at least one year.
  • That service must be based in and provided wholly or mostly to residents of London and the home counties.

Due to limited resources, they are unfortunately curently unable to include within the scheme organisations whose specialist legal advice/services only cover debt and/or welfare benefits. This is purely due to the number of these organisations that exist and the limited funds available, however this will be reviewed over time.  For more information
