Social Care ‘Web Tool’
Lasa’s socialcareinfo.net is designed to provide members of the public with access to quality assured information and support on their social care needs. By simply entering a postcode, socialcareinfo provides details of their local authority’s social care offering, access to quality-assured national information resources, and details of local advice services in their area who can offer further support.
Lasa have also developed a ‘widget’ which enables other organisations to provide access to socialcareinfo information and search results from their websites as a service to their own users. See socialcareinfo.net/about/widget
“I used this resource for the first time today and found a route to assisting a client regarding legal aid assistance. Very useful, saved me a time making numerous calls. A very positive start. Good to see my own organisation featured too.” Croydon Mencap
Online welfare benefits casework support
If you provide advice on welfare benefits check out the online casework support available via Lasa’s rightsnet website (www.rightsnet.org.uk). Rightsnet is one of a range of services delivered by Lasa, an advice and technology charity which has been delivering support to the sector for more than 30 years. The online adviser forums are a great way for advisers to keep up to date and share their experience and expertise for the benefit of their clients. And the best part is - they’re free!
You can view the forums at http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums and, if you want to post a message, you just need to register which only takes a minute or two. The registration form is available at http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/my/account.
Do check out rightsnet, and let them know what you think - rightsnet’s email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
