Getting out and about to meet up and do new things has been the main trend this month. People have been looking for free or cheap activities and ways to meet new people or make new friends.
This month I have been signposting people to
- Creative writing classes at New Addington Library,
- Weightwatchers sessions held in Fieldwa ,
- The Energetic and Wise group held at Timebridge Community Centre,
- Sunday prayer at the Baptist church,
- Singcronise the local choir group held by The Salvation Army
- and the morning breakfast club for mums and tots held at the old library building by The Salvation Army.
Everyone I spoke to thinks that the New Addington Asset Map is a fantastic idea. They are very pro the ideas of recognising our assets and keeping the wealth within this part of the borough, rather than going into Central/South Croydon or travelling into other areas to access activities. The people I meet are often surprised at the variety of activities on offer so close to where they live in New Addington.
