Thursday 16 March 2017
09:45 to 12:45

In this session we will be covering:

  • The legal implications of volunteering and the legal position of volunteers
  • Avoiding creating contracts in your volunteering relationships
  • Safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities in relation to volunteers
  • Who can volunteer including information about those claiming benefits
  • Identifying ways of reducing risk to your organisation

Please note that lunch will not be provided.
This session will be of use for those who want to develop or improve their policies and procedures for involving volunteers. It is important to have confidence in the decisions you make about the involvement of volunteers, and although *Hilary is not a lawyer this course will give you the latest information about a wide range of legal aspects.

The training will be delivered by *Hilary Bell, CVA's Volunteering Good Practice Adviser. She has worked with Croydon organisations to develop and improve volunteering for over 8 years.
