Appropriate Adults Workshop
Wednesday 20 January 2021
10:30 to 12:00
Part of the One Croydon Social Prescribing Programme.
This is a repeat of the Appropriate Adults Workshop delivered on 3 December 2020. This workshop is aimed at voluntary sector groups (Foster Care Agencies and charities supporting young people with accommodation and organisations working with carers) with the aim to better understand the role of an 'Appropriate Adult' at the police station.
This workshop will include a basic short training session on this role as well as information on the typical legal problems/scenarios the AA may face at the Police Station. It will be followed by discussion time and an opportunity to ask questions.
Anthony Graham is a Croydon-based Criminal Defence Solicitor and co-director of Amosu Robinshaw solicitors. With 20 years' experience, Anthony has a particular interest in representing young people. He adopts an informal pastoral role with a view to young people growing out of offending behaviour. Anthony recognises the important role foster carers/support workers play in the lives of foster children with an emphasis on the relationship they have built with these children they care for.
