Domestic Abuse, Multiple Disadvantage, Trauma-Informed Practice - Part 1 & 2 (Solace Women’s Aid)

This training is for frontline professionals who may interact with survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls and is provided for the following boroughs: Barnet, Camden, City, Croydon, Enfield, Haringey, Harrow, Hounslow, Islington, Lambeth, Merton, Southwark, Wandsworth, Westminster
This is an interactive virtual training session that will involve discussion and exercises with the group.
This training is delivered in two parts and attendees will need to book both Part 1 & 2 separately.
- Part 1 (03 November 2022): Domestic Abuse. This training looks particularly at domestic abuse and its effects on survivors.
- Part 2 (10 November 2022): Multiple Disadvantage and Trauma-Informed Practice, . This training looks at domestic abuse within the context of VAWG and the impact of this traumatic experience on survivors. Attendees will gain an understanding of domestic abuse, the impact of trauma on survivors of abuse and an understanding of the needs and vulnerabilities of survivors facing multiple disadvantage, particularly those with mental health and substance use support needs. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to work with survivors in a trauma-informed way.
