🌟 Enhance Your Skills with Our Deaf BSL User Training Session! 🌟

Are you ready to improve your interactions with Deaf BSL users? Join us for a session designed to equip you with essential skills for creating inclusive and accessible environments.

When: 17^th September, 13:00-16:00

Who:

• Colleagues who interact with Deaf BSL users (frontline staff will benefit greatly).
• Line managers who manage Deaf BSL users.
• No prior knowledge required; this session is perfect for beginners and those needing a refresher.

Aims:

• Learn how to create welcoming and inclusive interactions with Deaf BSL users.
• Gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to start basic conversations with Deaf BSL users both in and outside of work.

Content of the session:

• Who uses British Sign Language (BSL)?
• Fingerspelling alphabet
• What is British Sign Language?
• Meet and greet signs
• Question signs
• Clarification signs (e.g., slow down, I sign a bit, repeat please)
• Resources and working with interpreters
• Summary and signposting
