An introduction to Magic Studio for small charities

Canva’s Magic Studio is a set of apps to help you easily create, transform and reformat your content using the power of AI. Tools an techniques include:

*Changing formats e.g. document to slide decks

*Turning text into realistic images

*Removing backgrounds from or sharpening images

*Generating new copy from simple text

*Creating music, video and much more from the words you write

In this taster session, we will play with AI tools that can help you in your everyday work. There will be short exercises to take part in and a chance to share your ideas with peers.

This course is not suitable for complete beginners.

Pre-course requirement

You must have a Canva Pro account to take part in this training. Registered charities can apply for a Canva Pro account for free here: https://www.canva.com/canva-for-nonprofits/ Other voluntary organisations including social enterprises with paid Pro accounts can also attend. Please attend using a laptop or other desktop device.

Am I eligible for this course?

This is an intermediate level training course and is not suitable for complete beginners. You will need some basic Canva design skills, such as creating new designs and adding and editing shapes, images and text.

Is this course for me?

This course is for staff and volunteers with responsibilities for creating publicity, presentations and other content using Canva. You will need basic Canva skills to attend.

Course format

Online technical group training

This is an online interactive live training session. You'll take part in interactive exercises such as breakout room discussions, polls or chat conversations.

You will be asked to complete individual technical tasks on your PC or laptop. You will not be able to join this training using a mobile device. It's likely that you will need to either create online accounts or download appropriate software, which we'll tell you about in advance.

Sorrel Parsons is our Digital Adviser & Training Manager at Superhighways and has 15 years' experience in supporting charities, community organisations and volunteers in the UK to communicate with the people that matter to them, demonstrate their impact and raise funds.
