Supporting children & young people at risk from suicide

Grassroots Suicide Prevention for Croydon is an in-person event focused on suicide prevention. This interactive workshop is an opportunity to connect with others passionate about supporting vulnerable young people struggling with mental health.

Workshop Highlights:

• Trauma-informed, recovery, strength-based approach

• Examine attitudes about suicide

• Understand trauma-informed care

• Identify risk factors and warning signs

• Discuss suicide-risk screening tools

• Principles of working with young people to prevent suicide

• Address barriers to engagement

• Use technology like the Stay Alive app

• Practice conversations about suicide

• Develop safety plans

• Increase staff resilience
