Trauma & Learning Disabilities: Navigating Complex Childhood Needs (Anna Freud)
Thursday 26 June 2025
17:00 to 18:30
This webinar explores how trauma affects those with learning disabilities, the challenges in recognising and responding to distress, and how practitioners can provide effective, compassionate support.
Beck Ferrari will explore trauma-informed approaches and interactions and offer a unique personal perspective through a pre-recorded conversation with her sister, who has a learning disability. Dr. Bartlett will draw on her extensive clinical experience and share creative approaches to adapting trauma-focused interventions for children and young people with learning disabilities.
The webinar will highlight why children with learning disabilities must have their needs recognised and responded to with the same compassion and quality of evidence-based care available to all children.
This webinar aims to:
- better equip all those supporting children and young people exposed to trauma
- increase knowledge, skills and confidence in professionals and carers
- share the latest evidence-based research to inform and support best practice.
Who is this webinar for?
