Independent Age offers free training to share knowledge and upskill frontline staff who support older people in their communities

This 45 minute, online course (via Teams) aims to give frontline workers an introductory overview of Council Tax.

This course is aimed at non welfare benefit advice roles.

By the end of the session, you should be able to:

• Understand who is liable for paying council tax
• Understand and identify who is disregarded for council tax purposes
• Develop an awareness of the different discounts and exemptions
• Feel confident in supporting people to make an application for a discount or exemption
• Know when to signpost for specialist advice
