From Overwhelm to Order: Why Habits Matter More Than Motivation (Link Up London)

Wednesday 26 November 2025
12:00 to 13:00

2025 has been called “the year of the big squeeze”. With rising costs, stretched resources, and increasing pressure on charity teams and leaders, many are being asked to do more with less, all while supporting communities who are also feeling the strain. The latest NCVO Road Ahead report highlights just how widespread these challenges are, from funding uncertainty and volunteer shortages to burnout and difficult decisions about services.

In this climate, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But while we can’t control all the external pressures, we can build systems that help us feel steadier day to day – and that starts with habits.

Event Overview

This session explores how small, consistent habits can reduce daily stress, free up mental energy, and help you feel more in control of your time and energy. You’ll look at how to make new habits stick and start thinking about what those new habits might be. Learn how to use overwhelm as a cue to build supportive routine without adding more to your plate. We’ll explore low-pressure, high-impact ways to reclaim calm.

In this supportive and interactive session, you’ll discover:

  • A better understanding of the kind of habits that actually help us (real-life stuff!)
  • Tips and tricks to implement new habits

There’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences, if you’d like to.
