For Baby's Sake - Working with Fathers who cause harm in their parental relationship - Inclusive Practice
Thursday 04 December 2025
10:00 to 12:00
This session is designed to increase knowledge on the importance of engaging and working with fathers and father figures using abusive behaviours. Research shows that the transition to parenthood can be a powerful motivator for fathers who cause harm in their relationships with their co-parents. This unique, evidence-based training course provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to embed change in their practices when working with the fathers. Our goal is to break cycles of domestic abuse and give babies the best start in life. The workshop will support services in adopting father-inclusive practices across both universal and targeted support for this cohort of parents.
Workshop Aims:
- Increase knowledge of why your service needs to engage and work with fathers and father figures
- Gain practical tips on how to ensure your practice is father inclusive
- Provide opportunities to hear directly from fathers about their own experience of fatherhood
- Support services to adopt father-inclusive practice across universal to targeted support
Who Should Attend:
This session is designed for professionals in health, social care, policing, education and related sectors who work directly or indirectly with families affected by domestic abuse
