Becoming more Father-Inclusive: the why and how of Engaging Fathers / Male Carers. (Croydon Family Hubs)
Tuesday 20 January 2026
10:00 to 15:30
Course Overview
The Family Hubs play a crucial role in supporting the whole family, and meaningful engagement with fathers is essential to achieving positive outcomes for children, parents, and communities. Research consistently shows that when fathers are positively involved in their children's lives, children benefit across multiple domains. Father engagement supports healthy attachment formation, enhances play and learning experiences, and contributes to improved educational outcomes. However, many fathers report feeling excluded, unwelcome, or invisible in family services, often because services have not been designed with them in mind. This training introduces the reasons behind why it is so important to support dads effectively, as ell as timely advice about how to create a more father-inclusive support offer. Participants will have the opportunity to audit their existing approaches and service contexts and to develop actionable strategies for creating father-inclusive services.
Participants are invited to attend:
- Face-to-face training session (10:00am – 3:30pm)
