Learning objectives

  • Examine the historical origins of intergenerational trauma
  • Explore how intergenerational traumas are passed on and presented in Black children and families
  • Explore signs of intergenerational traumas, including the emotional legacy of oppression on parenting, identity, and mental health outcomes
  • Examine the role of trauma-informed practice holistic interventions and safeguarding
