Description

Canva is the go-to online design editor for most community organisations to create posters, social media posts, flyers and more.

Canva now offers a powerful drag and drop video editor that you can use to build videos using video recordings, audio, photos and music.

You can also automatically add and edit captions, helping your videos be as accessible to everyone as possible.

In this hands-on, practical online training you’ll learn the editing skills you need to create beautiful videos that inspire and connect with your audience. You’ll explore templates for quick wins and editing techniques for more complex video.

This session will cover

You’ll learn how to:
• Upload your own content
• Edit multilayered video and audio
• Add animations or other effects
• Add, edit and style captions
• Download and share your video

If you have already filmed someone talking about your work, feel free to have this ready to upload. Or get in touch with us for some advice if you want to get started filming.

Otherwise, we will provide some materials for you to work with.

Pre-course requirement

You will need to join this course using a laptop or other desktop device. You will also need to have basic skills in using Canva. This course is not suitable for complete beginners.

This course is suitable for any member of staff or volunteers with responsibilities for creating videos.

Course format

Online interactive group training

This is an online interactive live training session. You'll take part in multiple interactive exercises. These may include breakout room discussions, use of collaborative tools and polls or quizzes. You'll be asked to complete individual tasks online or offline, which may include peer-group feedback. You may also be asked to complete a task before or after the session.

We're trying our best to give you a good classroom experience. Please join with video and bring your ideas, creativity, and challenges to share.
