Monday 13 July 2026
11:30 to 13:00
Enhancing the way professionals and volunteers engage with young people who may be at risk or have been affected by crime.
Learning objectives
- Understand how crime impacts young people and the barriers they face in seeking help
- Access specialist resources to support young people affected by crime
- Gain practical skills to respond to disclosures with confidence and sensitivity
- Strengthen their ability to build trust and create a safe environment for young people
- Learn key safeguarding principles
This session is led by Victoria Ebun of London Youth.
This initiative is designed to train trusted adults, those who may receive disclosures from young people affected by crime, particularly when those young people choose not to report incidents to the police. Helping them gain confidence, knowledge, and tools to support young victims of crime (aged 7–25) in a trauma-informed and empathetic way.
Key elements include:
- Skills development: Practical training to strengthen communication, relationships, and trauma-informed responses
- Community connection: Opportunities to engage with a wider network of youth groups, and local ground root services
- Ongoing support: Access to digital resources and tools to use in day-to-day practice as well as signposting agencies within the Young Londoners Victim Service
A unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. Join a network of trusted adults dedicated to creating safer, more supportive environments.
