This free training session is for frontline staff working in England who are looking to improve their knowledge about Council Tax discounts, reduction and disregards available to people over State Pension age.

By the end of the session, you will:

• understand who pays Council Tax, and why
• learn the difference between Council Tax Reduction, discounts, disregards and exemptions
• be able to identify who should pay less Council Tax
• feel confident supporting people to make an application for a Council Tax reduction, discount or exemption
• know when to signpost for specialist advice.
