This secondary school programme works with groups of up to 30 students, aged between 11 and 18 years old. These students are mentored by volunteers in small groups (of between 3 and 6) and participate in a range of activities which will directly enhance their ability to succeed in future educational and professional environments. Mentors are positive role models and working with the same group of students each week.
The role of the mentor is to:
- Plan how to engage with mentees in a creative way
- Support the educational and personal development in young people
- Guide young people to help them set, meet and exceed their goals in life
- The programme involves a commitment to a 3-hour training session, followed by 7 hours over one or two academic terms.
