The Maudsley Charity is putting just under £1 million into an exciting new project that will transform how young people experience mental health in Croydon.
Croydon Voluntary Action and the Reedham Children’s Trust will be supporting our leading mental-health providers and youth-work organisations on a project that takes young people off waiting lists and matches them with ‘rapid responders’ for personal and career development.
Mind in Croydon, Off The Record, Croydon Drop-In, Palace for Life, Reaching Higher and Be Inspired will each deliver one-to-one mentoring and social activity pathways for young people struggling to access support.
Working closely with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), the aim is to pilot a more effective way of ensuring that young people get the right support when they need it. The project will go live in the new year.
