In the lead-up to this month’s Croydon Summit, we’re presenting the Croydon VCFSE Manifesto, carrying profiles of how VCFSE organisations in Croydon are reshaping delivery models – and connecting local people into a bold new vision for the borough.
That vision takes Government agendas and runs with them, asserting that aims to build stronger communities and empower people to take back control are best held by those communities – and owned by local people. This is what Croydon’s local VCFSE sector excels in – showing how empowerment, prevention and social cohesion can be lived out in practice.
The Manifesto profiles a sample of local VCFSE partners with distinct strengths across youth engagement, healthy communities, older people, mental health, violence against women and girls, food poverty, homelessness and arts/culture. Informing a debate that we’ll pick up at the Summit, the Manifesto invites us to think creatively about Croydon’s future – and how we engage all our communities in shaping it.
