Carers Partnerership Board notes

Carers Partnership Board Meeting - 28 October 2025 at Bernard Weatherill House and online, attended by Patricia Knight

Attendees at this face-to-face and online Care Partnership board meeting included London Borough of Croydon Adult Social Care and Health Chair, Cabinet Member and Local Councillors, Commissioners, Carers, Reps from VCS; Carers First. 

 Follow-up from July meeting:

  • Clarification of access to respite care (for needs in carers assessment) these are updated annually.
  • Carers employment rights Council is working with local employers on this
  • Expanding GP practice role in supporting and identifying carers . Working with GPs to display posters and leaflets with information on registering with council/Carers First
Carers' Strategy: 2nd year action plan will be circulated.
Pupil Survey A survey of pupils and young people has been carried out in schools, which had a good response highlighting views and issues. This is just being collated and will be circulated.
Croydon's Sensory Impairment Team:  Offers advice to residents with sight and hearing impairments, working with Croydon Hearing Resource Centre and Croydon Vision. Referral is via health professionals, VCS and self-referral. 
London Borough Croydon, Occupational Therapy Service - Summary of service - Referrals by professionals, self-referrals, dependent on individual needs, equipment and house adaptations can be provided. Information about the service can be found on the Croydon Council website.
