ABCD and Big Local in Broad Green

Our ABCD worker has been working closely with Broad Green residents to create a Community Plan for the Big Local initiative, a Big Lottery programme potentially bringing in £1m funding to the Broad Green area over 10 years https://www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/biglocal

The draft community plan includes re-generation of green spaces in the area and where to place sporting activities for local young people.  As part of this, residents have been having conversations about Canterbury Road Recreation Ground and have been putting forward ideas to improve the play equipement and create an edible garden. With a new school being build in the area and the ball courts (pictured) being refurbished as part of this, residents are also keen to get involved in discussions around the community use of the space.

Work on the community plan continues and so do our conversations with local residents, groups and businesses! The plan will be launched in February/March 2016 with the first part of the funding hopefully coming in in May/June 2016. If you want to get involved email Paul.macey@cvalive.org.uk
