Achieving Advice Quality Standard workshop

Thursday 15 January 2015
11:00 to 13:00

Are you a Croydon based organisation that provides advice around welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment or health and social care? CVA, in partnership with Croydon Advice Providers Together (CAPT), are running workshops on the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) the only sector-owned, independently audited standard that focuses on advice. We have up to 15 bursaries available to cover most of the cost of this Quality Mark fees plus one to one support from our capacity building officer. So if you considering getting a quality mark, there is no better time!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

AQS has been developed specifically to assure the quality of the service you provide, ensuring that staff have relevant and up to date knowledge and that quality of advice remains high. Obtaining the standard demonstrates to clients, funding providers and other agencies, effectiveness and quality of the service you provide. The standard covers:
•Effective access to your services
•How your client's needs are met
•How people giving advice are supervised and supported
•How your team keep their knowledge up to date
•How you ensure that your people are giving the right advice

This workshop will be a highly informative opportunity for participants to learn about the standard, how the assessment and awarding process works and whether the standard is right for your organisation. Followed by an opportunity for 1:1 surgeries with each Advice Centre to discuss their own specific situation.
