Croydon Healthy Homes Service: Introduction to Fuel Poverty Support

Tuesday 19 January 2021
10:00 to 12:30

This free online session is hosted by Croydon Voluntary Action and will be delivered by Malcolm Bell, Energy Projects Manager for Croydon Council. Aimed at people who support low income and vulnerable Croydon residents this will webinar will help you identify residents at risk of fuel poverty and the support available to them through the new enhanced Croydon Healthy Homes Service.

According to the latest government figures, in 2018, 17,108 households in Croydon lived in fuel poverty. With residents spending more time at home due to Covid-19 and using more gas and electricity than usual, the number of residents struggling to heat their homes and pay their gas and electricity bills will increase.

In November, Croydon Council relaunched its Croydon Healthy Homes service, with a new team of qualified Energy Advisors.

One Croydon Social Prescribing training Programme : CVA invites Croydon's frontline work force (statutory and voluntary) to take part in this training programme. Colleagues working in Food Banks, Social Prescribers, Helpline Staff, Befrienders, Social Workers etc., are all most welcome. This training programme is targeted at people supporting better health and wellbeing in Croydon and about sharing good practice across the sectors. These online sessions are 'pick and mix' and free of charge. Find them all on our Eventbrite page or at https://cvalive.org.uk/calendar/view
