Explore the concept and meaning of self esteem and  the link between self-esteem and how it effects the sexual behaviour of young  people

The 'One Croydon Training Programme' is aimed at our frontline workforce (statutory, health and voluntary), colleagues working in Foodbanks, Social Prescribers, Helpline Staff, Befrienders and Social Workers.

Session 1: Self-esteem and young people

  • Explore the concept and meaning of self esteem
  • Identify issues that influence young people’s self-esteem in relation to their sexual health
  • Explore ways to demonstrate to young people the link between self-esteem and how it effects their sexual behaviour
  • Understand how your professional behaviour impacts on young people’s self-esteem

Session 2: Basic safeguarding and young people's sexual health

  • Explore what is meant by safeguarding in relation to young people
  • identify the laws relating to providing sexual health for young people
  • Explore what is confidentiality, Fraser guidelines and Gillick competancy
  • Understand what needs to be covered in a Risk assessment
