Introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences (One Croydon Training)

Wednesday 22 November 2023
10:30 to 12:30

This 2 hrs introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and becoming trauma-informed is aimed at anyone who works with the public, anyone in customer care, children's services, adult services, or any other public-facing role, or activity.

This introductory online session uses the global ACE evidence base to explore why people who may have experienced ACEs may behave in certain ways. It touches on the impact of ACEs on brain development and explores what can be done to offset the impact of ACEs and specifically the role of resilience and protective factors. The session also introduces the concept of a trauma-informed approach, its origin, and the essence of what a trauma-informed approach is.

This training is part of the One Croydon Training programme for our frontline workforce (statutory, health, and voluntary) colleagues and delivered is delivered by J3MS Consulting.
