Starting Up: How to Become a Charity or Social Enterprise (Richmond CVS)

This interactive online session is run by Richmond CVS in collaboration with Croydon Voluntary Action and Kingston Voluntary Action. It will cover legal structures, leadership risks, case for support, and how to develop budgets.

This course is suitable for anyone who is setting up a community group, charity or social enterprise based in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Croydon or Kingston. It is run by Claudia Demuth, who is an excellent capacity builder. Attend as:

  • an individual
  • with your co-leaders
  • as a new group
  • someone who wants a refresher on charitable trends.

This course will help you to:

  • Develop your project ideas into a draft case for support
  • Recognise different kinds of organisational forms and legal statuses
  • Identify the steps / support needed to build your idea
  • Plan ahead to counteract common leadership risks.
