Expanding Cultural Competencies: Support Young LGBTQ+ (CSCP & LSBU)

Tuesday 16 January 2024
09:30 to 16:30

The Croydon Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) alongside the London South Bank University (LSBU) is delivering the second part of this two-day training course. This is in response to the work of the CSCP Mental Health Priority Group which considered a number of suicides and serious harm incidents where an additional feature of the case, included that the young person’s gender or identity was different to the one assigned at birth.

Professionals felt that enhancing their confidence to encounter questions and challenges as well as balance the risk when a young person is self-harming or has suicidal tendencies would support the quality of the trusted relationship and be more likely to have positive outcomes for this cohort of young people.

This training is free and, open to any professional working to support children and young people in Croydon.
